the house with the checkered kitchen floor

The flusher on our toilet doesn't quite work --- we have to open the lid and pull up the stopper by hand. So naturally I always feel dainty and lady-like when I do this. But other than that, our little house is darling. It's definitely got its quirks, but it's happy to come home to.

On one of the first mornings in the house, we made waffles on our plates from Spain and poured milk from a pitcher just because it's cute. We sit at a little round table that my parents had in their first house. (we like sentimental things.) I remember thinking that my cousins who were receiving hand-me-downs for their marriages were so grown up, so it's funny to be at that point in life.

We laugh a lot. A whole lot. And we're obsessed with The West Wing and oreos and milk. We love making our house Us (we wish the lawn wasn't dead and growing weeds) and making it feel like home. The best thing, though, is coming home together. I highly recommend marriage.

Yay! Can we come see your checkered kitchen floor sometime? I'm so happy that you're right down the street.

I have been waiting for a new post from you, and it is a prefect post, I loved reading it! I love those plates! So we have a secret that we do our oreos and milk, take a fork and hold the two sides of the cookie while pushing the fork into the filling then use the fork to dip into you mugs of milk and then your fingers don't get milk on them but sometimes that is the fun part!

Can we come over and eat oreos and pour milk from a pitcher and watch The West Wing with you? We have a special place for the West Wing in our hearts. We watched seasons 1-4 in our little Provo apartment the first semester we were married. Curled up in an oversized chair that used to belong to Ada and Chris, with the laptop propped up on a stool. Also, it's the Best Television Ever. xoxoxoxo
